AXEB Biotech takes part in an European consortium together with several Universities and companies, including Harper Adams University (United Kingdom), Wageningen University (Netherlands) and Barilla GeR Fratelli SpA (Italy), among others, which recently received an approval of project from Horizon 2020 – Research and Innovation Framework Programme.

Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) with the aim of more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.

The project entitled ‘Safe food and feed through an integrated ToolBox for mycotoxin management’, pretends to reduce 20-90% crop losses due to fungal and mycotoxin contamination by coordinating multi-actor partnership (academia, farmers, technology SMEs, food industry and policy stakeholders).

The MyToolBox project will develop, test and validate an entire toolkit including resistant plant resources, management tools and technologies to effectively monitor and reduce the incidence of mycotoxin contaminants in crop production as well as in the food and feed supply chains.
