Sugar content increase in sugar beet

In line with the improvement of our high quality products, a field experiment of AXESUGAR was carried out to observe the increase of sugar in sugar beet plants. AXEB Biotech is involved in R&D projects to give solution to agricultural community to improve plant health and enhance crop yield and conditioning of soil by the use of innovative biostimulants, plant nutrition products, specialized fertilizers and adjuvants.

AXESUGAR is a natural activator designed to improve the performance of the roots and the production of sucrose in sugar beet and sugar cane. Based on the latest knowledge of the nutritional requirements of these crops, AXESUGAR supplies specific macro, meso and micronutrients to achieve higher yields and crop quality, while inducing an improvement in soil performance.

AXESUGAR stimulates sugars formation in leaves and sugar storage in roots through the supply of potassium (improvement of nitrogen use efficiency by plants), magnesium (increase of photosynthesis), silicon (for a better plant cell health and resistance for facing biotic and abiotic stresses), boron (the main required micronutrient in sugar crops, especially in sandy alkaline soils), and a balanced mix of micronutrients (for the right performance of plant enzymatic system).

AXESUGAR includes ATCA, a natural component derived from L-cysteine, which is a natural activator of the biochemical functions of the plant. It stimulates and increases the resistance of the plant to adverse conditions such as drought stress or cold stress by stimulating the production of glutathione, an antioxidant component and the natural key in living systems.

The field experiment was tested on sugar beet (Beta vulgaris subsp. vulgaris), a plant whose root contains a high concentration of sucrose and which is grown commercially for the production of sugar. In 2009, sugar beet accounted for 20% of world sugar production.

Results:

Polarization (or pol) is the apparent sucrose content expressed as a mass percent measured by the optical rotation of polarized light passing through a sugar solution. This parameter is the most important to determine sugar beet yield in terms of sugar content. An increase pol is observed in sugar beet treated with AXESUGAR compared to control.

Date: 2017. Duration: 7 months. Number of treatments: 3. Dosage: 1 L / ha, spray, 45 days sowing. 1.5 L / ha, spray, 65 days after sowing. 1.5 L / ha, spray, 85 days after sowing.
