Our History
Foundation and First Phase (2006 – 2014)
AXEB BIOTECH S.L. is a family-owned company founded in 2006 by Ricard Casals, with the support of two partners, with the goal of developing biochemical technology to improve agricultural production. The company focused on metabolites, biostimulants, and plant nutrition compounds.
During this initial phase, AXEB concentrated on research and development (R&D), funded through its own capital and public support. The company’s activity centered on the commercialization of formulation licenses in Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina, as well as the sale of raw materials for agricultural formulations.
International Expansion (2014 – 2022)
Starting in 2014, AXEB BIOTECH made the strategic decision to enter the international market with branded products. In 2015, the company received its first international orders and began exporting to China.
With determination and effort, the company expanded steadily, entering multiple countries across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, ultimately reaching more than 20 countries worldwide.
Consolidation in the International Market (2022 – 2024)
Following the pandemic crisis and the resulting shift in the global agricultural market, AXEB BIOTECH focused on consolidating its value proposition and product portfolio in the countries where it already operates.
The company strengthened its close partnership model with active clients, reinforcing commercial ties with the goal of supporting their growth and positioning in local markets.
AXEB also invested in building a network of collaborators and technical, regulatory, and commercial contacts around the world, all contributing to the company’s long-term vision.
Generational Transition and Future Vision (2024 – Present)
After a successful professional journey and 19 years at the helm of AXEB BIOTECH, Ricard Casals closed an important chapter in the company’s history, making way for a new generation of leadership.
Jordi Casals has taken on the role of General Manager, launching a new phase marked by a refreshed corporate image and a renewed strategic approach, while remaining faithful to AXEB’s core values.
This new chapter reinforces the company’s commitment to strong partnerships with clients, expansion into new international markets, and a determined focus on continuous innovation and the development of differentiated products.
Looking ahead, AXEB embraces new technologies and leverages its accumulated technical expertise to strengthen and validate its value proposition.
